أعلنت مجموعة من قياديي و أطر حزب اليسار الأخضر،  الانسحاب من الحزب و تقديم استقالتهم منه خلال ندوة صحافية الأربعاء بالرباط. و قال عمر الزيدي أن جل المنسحبين ينتمون للرعيل الأول من مؤسسي الحزب، ينتمون لمجلس التنسيق الوطني و المجلس الفدرالي بما فيها فروع الرباط، سلا ، الناظور... و سرد المنسحبون من اليسار الأخضر من خلال "مذكرة بيان أسباب الاستقالة " التي وزعت في الندوة الصحفية، كل العوامل التي دفعتهم للانسحاب من حزب تحول "لأداة بأيادي خارج الحزب، أغرقته بالمال و بالمؤتمرين الذي لا تربطهم أيه علاقة بالحزب". كما سرد عمر الزيدي تحالف" ج 8" الذي طبخه شخصان بالحزب دون علم الاجهزة التقريرية في الوقت الذي كان اليسار الاخضر منخرطا في عملية تنسيق خماسي مع الاتحاد الاشتراكي، جبهة القوى الديمقراطية و التقدم و الاشتراكية  و الحزب الاشتراكي.  كما عاب المنسحبون على الحزب تخاذل المواقف في عدد من القضايا الراهنة و الفردانية في التسيير مما تسبب في شلل تام لحزب ما زال في المرحلة الجنينية. و لم يستبعد المصطفى المريزق العضو المستقيل من اليسار الاخضر الانخراط في عدد من الخيارت التنظيمية جمعويا و حزبيا ، مؤكدا "أننا سنتدارس كل الخيارات و كل الاحتمالات واردة، فالأكيد اننا لن نبقى دون عمل سياسي". و عن أسباب تأخر الإعلان عن الانسحاب، قال محمد العربان كاتب فرع الرباط "لم يكن سهلا الانسحاب من تجربة حزبية، القرار لم يكن هينا، لكن وجنا ان هناك توجهان في الحزب، توجه نحو مشروع هجين و توجه نحو مشروع أيكولوجي."
